I asked my granddaughter what kind of quilt she'd like, her answer was "Turtles!" It was NOT the answer I expected....
Help!! (Please?) I am trying to create a pattern, but I haven't done that for a long, long time... |
Coloring pages can be adapted for applique
http://www.first-school.ws/theme/ani...p_tortoise.htm I remember seeing a pillow once that used hexes for the shell, and hands, paws, and tails added on. Were you looking for a certain style, like aboriginal or kids? I'm thinking I've seen paper pieced ones, also. |

Here's one done log cabin style. The picture isn't that great. But the pattern looks like it has potential.

You can also make turtles with a Drunkard's Path variation, adding prairie points for the head and tail. Here's how: http://www.hgtv.com/cr-quilting-bloc...ing/index.html
