I have done some reasonable ok stitch in the ditch and some fantasy me free hand quilting and i decide to add some fabric on the edges and have that frilly too but i added one piece of fabric to the front and and one pice( wide strips really) on the back since the backing was just plane pink i thought sum more hello kitty fabric would be fun but when i am sewing on the front, it came out crooked on the back :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

So you're trying to add a frill to a quilt that has already been quilted? Not sure I'm understanding exactly what you are doing. Posting a few pictures might help.

It's pretty tough to get front and back aligned so that something done to the front looks good on the back too.

Most rag quilts aren't quilted...if you tut pieces of batting in the middle of each uiece most just sew an x before sewing the pieces together.

i have sewed a panel in the middle then strips all around it so its not really quilted in that sense but since its a big one piece batting i needed to sew something to make sure it was kept in place.
my problem is when i was putting the end strips around and was sewing that it came out un even and i m a perfectionist big time :wink:
