Lost my book Divide and conquer?

I bought a used book on Amazon on the recommendation of a member. I think the name was Divide and Conquer --something, something something. It was about dividing quilts in sections for quilting on a home machine. I thumbed through it and set it on my table to read later. It has totally disappeared. (I must have tossed it with the newspapers.)

I did not read it in detail, but it seems that she added the batting in sections. She laid out the backing, the 1/3 batting in the center, then the top. She quilted the middle 1/3, then added part of the batting, and quilted another 1/3, etc. Was this really in the book, or did I make it up?

Does anyone know the name of the book, so that I can order it again?

Would this method really work?

You're right. It's Divide and Conquer: Quilt it your Way
by Nancy Smith and Lynda Milligan

I've never heard it but you can log on to your Amazon account and check "orders" for the title. From this screen, you can even re-order. I think there's a button to do that.. Bummer that it possible got tossed. Good luck.

I've used Marti Mitchell's Quilting in Sections which sound similar and it does work.

I should have double checked. Patrice is right. This method sounds more
like Marti Mitchell's book.

"Divide and Conquer" is about dividing your quilt in smaller parts,
quilting each part separately then adding them together.

The technique you describe is one of many from the Marti Michell book 'Machine Quilting in Sections'

Yes this method really works!!

The Divide and Conquer book covers several methods, from QAYG by the block and you assemble the quilt of prequilted blocks, to the one you describe where you take the completed top and full size backing and cut the batting in sections. In their book they recommend cutting the batting with a wavy line so it is easier to match up.

Of course, the best way to find the book is to order it again. :o Sorry, this happened to you. It happens to me all of the time.
