The website says $16.97/year.

I just looked at all the quilting magazines available through Amazon. Patchwork and Quilting is $86 forr 1 year/12 issues! I've never seen that magazine and I'm betting I never will.

I subscribe to American Patchwork and Quilting. I don't remember what the price was, but I'm pretty sure it was something like $23.95.

That has to be an error either way, I'd sure pass !

My notice read the same as yours. Couldn't believe the price, figure it was a typo but geez...

For that money, I'd expect to get fabric, thread and someone to sweep up.. LOL

There have been scam renewals going out for many of the quilting magazines, most of them with a Reno, Nev return address, this sounds like it might be one of the scams. This is mail fraud & I turned the several I received last year over to the post office. Doube check with Fons & Porter & if a scam turn it in to the postal service.

I've been reading thru the replies, many say to throw in the the trash, but this is mail fraud and the postal service does want to know & they do investigate-please turn these scam renewals over to the post office, that is the only way they can be stopped.

I am allowing all my subscriptions to run out... what a pain to get renewal notice after renewal notice...the one Ireceived last week stated "Final Notice" -- wow I sure hope so. I also received Cd's with quilt patterns... never authorized shipment.. made the mistake of opening the first shipment and had to pay return postage along with receipt of delivery. Next one I Marked 'Refused' and was thankfully not shipped another. I just purchase magazines when I am intested in the contexts. After all I receive most of my quilting ideas from the wonderful member of this QB :)

Yes, I got that today, I called and they said that wasn't from the company-it was from a magazine marketing group and to tear it up and wait for my regular renewal bill to come. I sure did tear that thing up!!!!!

chichimamma 12-13-2012 05:32 PM

Why do the companies waste postage doing that when you just renewed, sometimes I get on line and look up my account.

I receive several magazines, but like a lot of you I am letting the subsriptions run out -- yes, money is tight, I have hundreds of books and years worth of magazines to look at and quilt from -- and that's not counting the hundreds of patterns I pulled from old magazines. I am at the point that I would rather spend my money on fabric and if I see a magazine with a pattern I just have to have I will use one of my 40% off coupons at JoAnns.

Somewhere they posted it was a scam but with my senior memory I can't remember where I read it. It could of been on FB because I am a friend.

I sure wish the American magazines would expand their horizons. They all seem to be the same old, same old. I'd LOVE to see them start featuring more of the styles and ideas coming out of Australia and Japan.

I love this magazine. It has such a great variety of projects in them. F&P is the same ol same old. I

I got the same notice in the mail today, also received my last issue and with it was the warning letter you get when its your las issue. In the letter the letter the amount was only twenty something for one year.

got my renwal and passed it to the trash can! Typo i hope but i all done!!

sniktasemaj 12-15-2012 04:00 PM

I had seen this the other day. Then today, Sat, I recieved an invoice from Publisher's Clearing House for the same amount you describe. It looks like a bill. I asked my husband if he had sent in something as before he has been tricked by PCH. He said No. I read it again and I think you only send in the money if you want it.

This is why I dropped my subscription a few years ago and never looked back and never missed it. This ploy left such a bad taste in my mouth, I even unsubscribed from their website's emails. Haven't missed them at all.

Michellesews 12-16-2012 07:36 AM

It is a mistake. Call them, there is an 800 number in the front of the magazine. I had to call because I was getting duplicate issues. Let us know...if that is the case, my subs will definitely be G O N E...

kat13 12-16-2012 07:43 AM

There are so many to choose from!! They all used to be alot thicker...I just got the fons and porter and won't be
renewing, was disappointing it was so thin, like half the pages it used to be.
I like Machine quilting unlimited just to drool...
