Looks pretty easy if you break it down into 2 blocks. I bet you could do it without a pattern.

Maybe ebay? Do a google search for the name and date of the magazine? Or maybe someone on the QB would be willing to sell it to you or give it to you?

Check if your local library has that magazine or can get a copy of it from another library.

To me, the quilt needs to have one more vertical row added to the right side....or am I nuts this morning?? Very interesting pattern though, I'll have to keep the photo in my file for another bucket list item. Will probably do a scrappy.

I remember this pattern from somewhere. If you break it down, the 'star' block is a scrappy 4 patch center with constant colour flying geese making the star points and then scrappy corner squares. It would be an easy 12 inch block. The secondary block is only half the size in width--two scrappy squares on the top, one background square the same size as the 4 patch center in the first block, then two more scrappy squares on the bottom.

At least that is the way that my eyes are seeing it. Easy to draw out on graph paper or in EQ.

I see this as a row quilt. If you use 2 (3) inch finished colored squares, then your white center block would be a 4 (6) inch finished square. The longer white square would be cut out as 8.5 x 4.5 (12.5 x 6.5) inches, then snowballed with a 2.5 (3.5) inch square to produce a 4 x 8 inch (6 x 12) rectangle. The colored 4 patch corners finish at 4 (6) inches. This quilt could be made any size block you want. Just count the squares in each section and multiply by your number. I started with either a 2 or 3 inch. It could easily be a four inch to highlight a specific fabric.

Please excuse the wobbly lines. I am in awe of anyone that can draw straight lines in Paint on a laptop.

I looked at the pattern again, and still using the same measurements as above, I redid the blocks as 12 inch square blocks. The quilt as shown would only be 36 inches square and would still need another set of the 4" wide snowballed blocks down the right side and the bottom, which would bring the size up to 40". If you use 18" blocks, which would be 3 inch squares, then the finish with the extra 6 inch borders would be 60 inches squares. 4 inch squares would give you 24" blocks, with 8" extra borders would give you 80" square. This probably "clear as mud". And now you know why I don't write quilt patters. lol

If I'm not mistaken, this is the same free pattern by Maywood Studio-Coastal Getaway. The colors need to be worked out so it will look like your picture. I found it free online.
