Has anyone tried this?
Was wondering if it would work. Guess the only way to know is to try!lol Gale |
I bought some at the International Quilt Show in Chicago. They had a wonderful demonstration. It was what I would call a bit "pricey". And to be used for very specific areas. it is designed to shrink 30 percent in all directions. THe demostration I saw , said not to use the 30 percent as a constant expectation. They said their experience was more 25 percent.
I think there are some tutorials out there , Check the Superior Threads site . I know Alex Anderson has one on her new web based site called "the Quilt Show" it was a free one , not part of the subsriction services. If you can get to a quilt show where Superior threads is a vendor they are very , very knowledgeable on this new product and have wonderful samples and demonstrations. Note I just checked There are three tutorials on Texture magic on the "the Quilt Show site" . Below is the first in the series of three. They are free. http://www.thequiltshow.com/os/blog.php/blog_id/2233 I will try to find the link for both. Very cool stuff , just wish it was not so pricey so I could play with it more. |

Some of the quilting/stippling designs might be fun to try out :D:D:D Or the decorative stitches.

I haven't tried it yet

have been practicing and it really is fun. I took a square of it and in each quadrant/quarter of the square I stitched a different shape - some close together, some specific designs, some stippling, etc...this way I got to see how different types of stitching would look. Next thing is to use it in something!
