I am having so much trouble with my quilting machine. DH just gave me the good ahead to buy a new one. It's been in the shop three times in a month and every time it comes home it brings a new problem. I am tired of dealing with it.
What do you have?
Why did you buy that brand?
Would you buy it again.

Ive had a Nolting Fun Quilter for 4 yrs,,, and LOVE IT, very rarely have any tension issues or any problems at all. Now am selling that one because I bought another Nolting, the Pro Series. Great machines, great tech help, and what little service Ive needed has been awesome! AND its made in the USA!!!!

I bought two Bernina's. A Bernina 930 and Bernina 1130. The 930 is the last all metal Berninas made. It is known as the Work Horse of the Berninas. Bernina's have a great reputation for excellence and longevity. I have never come across a Bernina owner who didn't love their machines. You can find excellent used ones one Ebay and other sites. Also check with your Bernina dealer in your area if you have one. They will most likely try to sell you a new one, but they may also have reconditioned ones to offer also.

I would love to hear back from you if you decide to go with a Bernina. I know you won't be disappointed.

Best regards,
Cheryl

I didn't know Bernina sold LA's. I used to have a Bernina regular machine and loved it.

I have a Brother QC 1000. I have had it about 1 1/2 yrs. and really like it. I have had a couple of problems, but they have been my fault. I did something to the needle threader and it was replaced without charge. Then I dropped a broken needle down in the working parts and that was corrected. Other than that, the machine works great. It also has decorative stitches, letters, etc. on it. Goes through thick layers easily. Does a beautiful stitch when you are free motion quilting.

If you are interested in long arms, join the homequiltingsystems group at http://groups.yahoo.com . It is a very active group of quilters with long arm systems, and many will comment about the pro's and con's of their machines. Also check their extensive "files" section for information on various longarms.

I apologize, I did not realize that you were looking for a LA. So sorry. The last lady seemed to have a good idea regarding the group that is involved with LA's. Good Luck.

have you tried calling the HQ company in Utah? there is an 800 #...and their tech support team are wonderful! i was very unhappy after taking mine in to a local shop for cleaning and tuning...seemed like every time it went it came back with something wrong that was not wrong when it went, and they were just not (nice) to deal with...so I called Utah...they have been great, there have been a couple times when i have spent 1/2 an hour on the phone with them but i've always managed to fix what was wrong with their help and it is better than ever going to that shop...also, when my (mother-board) went out on my HQ-16 i called the local shop ... they told me i needed to "do an up-grade" to the tune of $750
I called Utah, told them what was happening...they sent me a (new) re-furbished mother-board for $100, including shipping and i had it in 3 days! (the shop had said i would be without my machine between 2&4 weeks) i have 'worn-out' a couple parts, had to buy a new bobbin case, but i think it is well worth calling them direct!
