When using a double needle, you have to be very careful that you don't leave the needle down and try to turn a corner. Needles break that way.

My Viking has a foot to do this along with doing decrotive stitches. It looks really nice.

You can pivot with a double needle. Raise the needles and leave only one in the fabric. I use a lot of triangular pintucks in heirloom.
