I am in need of buying thread for my sewing machine to quilt with since I only have a few sewing threads and all rayon. What brand is good to get that is cotton and not too expensive?

Connecting Threads.com, their Essentials threads are very, very reasonably priced, you actually get more on the spool than the traditional Coats and Clarks for less money, plus the Essentials is 100% cotton, which is what you should use if you use 100% cotton fabric for your quilts.

I use the essentials on the quilting frame and YLI is very good also in the big spools.

I started with coats and clark thread, but after finding Connecting Threads I use their essential thread. Nice thread and I get so much more for my money. My son and I went together and bought all their collections so we got free shipping too. Check it out.

I use Connecting Threads brand. I buy the big cone of neutral color for piecing and the thread sets for colors. All the name brand thread are excellent threads. I like them all and use them but for the value Essential thread is what I use daily.

I use STAR thread when I can find it, or the Connecting Threads.

I like the Star thread best.

I think they had the variegated ones. I wasn't looking for solids that day, so I am not sure.
