GGK, your post was entertaining and useful. I have a Viking designer, myself (made in Sweden) and am dreading the day it dies.

Good for you!!!!

hugs, charlotte

I drive a little over an hour away to have my sewing machines serviced and it's a good thing I don't lack in sewing machines to fall back on as the guy who services machines always has quite a few setting ahead of me. Sometimes takes a month to get it back, but so good to have a place to go with it. He's been the best repair person I've been to, so worth the wait. Always a relief to have a good running machine.

I drive about 45 minutes, it's also the shop I bought my machines at, they are excellent at repairs and cleaning.

Lindaschipper, I haven't been to Muscatine, IA. for a few yrs., but Neal's on 2nd street might do repairs or know of someone who can. I don't know what machines they carry..

grannie cheechee....I talked to Neals, if the machine simply needs a cleaning he could maybe to it, but he's not an authorized Janome dealer. So he would have a hard time getting parts if one needed to be replaced. The best he could do was to give me names of Janome dealers here in Iowa or Illinois. But to the closest one is a 90 minute drive and the next closets is a two and a half hour drive. Going to call the dealer in Cedar Rapids this morning and talk to them, and then make arrangements to take the machines in.
