What is a good machine that you can progame With diffrent stiches to do machine quilting

Do you mean a machine that will do decorative stitches, but you are guiding the fabric? Many regular sewing machines come with the capability now. Most quilters quilt on regular sewing machines but can select a decorative stitch, such as a stem stitch, for embroidery or quilting.

Or do you mean a machine that will stitch out an entire shape for you -- like a four-leaf clover to fill in a 9-inch block? I think that type of stitching requires an embroidery machine. Basically you select the pattern you want, and then sit back while the machine automatically stitches it out for you.

I have a reg. machine that has decorative stitches that I use. I just recently purchased a Janome 6600 if the question is what's a good machine? :-D

I love my Janome 760 for classes and I have a Pfaff - both have a number of stitches to choose from. Good luck

I brought home my 'new to me' Bernina Artista today!!!! I can't wait to learn how to use it. However, I am extremely intimidated as I piece on a featherweight and don't know how to use bells and whistles! I am told this is an excellent machine. The owner of the sewing shop allowed me to layaway as long as I made a payment every once in a while, sometimes as long as 6-8 weeks.

I too have a Bernina on layaway. They seem to be a very sturdy machine and well made, I believe it will be the only machine I will ever need to purchase in my life (better be as I'm spending my whole budget plus more :shock: )

How about the Elna's Quilters Choice #6600 (I think) or the Baby Lock Quest Plus?
