I had Knit Wits at my church today. After an hour of knitting alone, (It happens some times that I am the only one there.) I decided I should pin my quilt. I had the top, batting, backing, pins, tape, and scissors in my car. When I got the backing taped down and the batting spread out, I realized I had left my binder clips on the sewing machine at home! Luckily there were some in the office. I got the entire quilt pin basted in about an hour and half. I thought that was fairly fast for as many pins as I put in. Next time I think I will drag DH along so he can close the pins as I place them. Should speed things up. He is always asking if I want him to help, so I will allow him to help!!!!!

Good job -- although i don't close my pins; its just for a short period of time. My two cents worth - lol

On a full or larger I usually close my pins. Also if I pin at the church I close because I have to transport the quilt home, and when I am able to get to the church to pin, I am not always ready to do the quilting. Right now I have 25 card tricks blocks to put together into a quilt before my machine will be free. Tee hee.

I have 6 ready to be pinned. They are all lap quilts except one. It's a twin size. There just doesn't seem to be enough time.
