Made in China fabric

I have been buying batiks which I know are made in India. Today, I went looking for something different at JoAnn fabrics. Most of their cottons are now $8-$12 and everything that I looked at was made in China. Does that fabric hold up through washings? Any problems with skin reactions to the dye used? I have purchased some fabric at Hobby Lobby which was printed in Korea and it seems fine.

Not all batiks are made in India. Yes, I have noticed a big increase in the cotton fabric at JAF. I find myself using RK which I believe are made in Korea. Does anyone remember the good old days when most of the fabrics were made in Japan??

When I bought fabric at Walmart that was made in China, the employee said one of the girls putting it out developed a rash so it was a good idea to wash it before using it to get off whatever it is they spray on it. However, I have never pre-washed the yardage I bought and have had no problem.

I've ordered Robert Kaufman fabric that came directly from Hong Kong and it's very nice quality fabric
