In the picture the ruler is upside down to get the right 45* angle. I can't remember where I got it but it is the Quilter's Quarter Marker by Janel Hoxie. It is made by Omnigrid inc. it has several handy little angles on it.don't know why the picture flipped on its side.

I went to the quilt pictures section on the email page of this forum and did a search for mad quilters scrappy and this popped up -- What's your favorite pattern charity quilts dated 4-30-12 and mad quilter's was number 12. Maybe you can find it this way.

This pattern appeared in Quiltmaker magazine, January/February '06. I've had it folded open to that page, which is on my bucket list. So many patterns, so little time. I'll enjoy seeing a pic of yours when it is finished. Good luck. In the magazine, measurement for the contrasting pieces were 3 1/2" x 9 1/2", and they were sewn together with a 45 degree diagonal seam, trim the seam to 1/4" as you would do as if joining binding strips, press to the dark. This made a 3 1/2" x 15 l/2" 'block'. These were then placed side by side, end to end, etc., by pleasing colors, and sewn to each other, making larger 'blocks' or sections. This may nudge me into tackling my scraps real soon.

I cut up my neutral scraps and I have enough for about 70 blocks. I haven't started on my dark scraps but as you can see by the bag, that's going to take a while. I figure that should give me about a 70 X 70 quilt top with the 9 blocks I' ve already sewn. I am going to work at my leisure and it should take me into the new year piecing.
