Magnifier glasses with head lamp
 

Has anyone ever used these magnifier glasses for quilting and or crafting? https://l.facebook.com/l.php? The more I quilt and do any type of needle work the more I realize I could use a little help with my eyes.

Yes I have the ones with the different strength inserts. I Don’t like them at all. Very cumbersome. I wear glasses and it’s almost impossible to where the magnifying set up over regular glasses. At least for me. Others might have better luck than I did.

I have a couple here that I wear around the top of my head. I find them uncomfortable however they do make a difference.

Depending on the strength of your prescription, you may want to experiment with stronger reading glasses. I've found that I'm pretty happy using quite strong reading glasses while doing any type of sewing - these glasses are strong enough that objects at only 15" are starting to get blurry (which means I can't iron with these glasses on). I have glasses with progressive lenses that I use for most of life, but inexpensive reading glasses are preferable for me for sewing.

I wear bi-focals and it's hard for me to sew wearing them, so have got reading glasses and they really help.

I got one of those headsets and hate putting it on. It is very cumbersome. I moved my sewing stuff to a spot in the living room where I can use a fairly stronger lamp, and I also got some magnifying glasses that clip on over my regular glasses. That seems to work better for me. It's a lot easier to take them off when the doorbell rings, too!

I have some with the inserts and I swear by them. They are cumbersome, but the additional light and the magnification is worth its weight in gold. I originally got them when I started tatting (lace making) a few years back and needed something extra because I was working with tiny, tiny knots. I use them for cross-stitching and sometimes crocheting, it depends. They do work for quilting, I've used them when my eyes seem especially weak.
