Somewhere here I remember someone mentioning something you can buy at Home Depot/Lowes and use it to rotary cut on and iron on as well... granted I won't use it for cutting but now that it's on my mind of course I can't find the post....

I remember thinking it was in a discussion about the Martelli cutting mats (which I have to say I'm still in love with but didn't get while at the quilt show today)

It is going to drive me nuts! I was thinking about it today and now I can't seem to get it out of my mind and it's frustrating me that I can't remember what the stuff was called that you can get.

No - it was made from a product you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes...
I was thinking of getting some to make a small ironing station for my new craft room. I'm not a big fan of the June Taylor one. To me it's kinda wobbly.

Great board ... got mine in a 1/2 off day at Fabricland.

I don't use it for ironing, rather as a mini design wall at the machine, and then easy to line up pieces with the grid and then carry them back and forth to the ironing board.

Near the sewing machine, I have a tv tray with the June Tailor iron/cutting mat. I purchased little clear globs at Lowe's, placed one in each corner of the cutting mat side. Now, June doesn't scoot at all. If I want it off the tv tray I must pick it up intentionally.

Sorry, I don't know about the material you are asking about. Would like to know, as well.

I saw a cutting board at Hobby Lobby like the one shown on the Joanne's web site. Has anybody used one? To me it seems like the padded back might make it harder to cut with the rotary blade and might be more apt to slide while cutting. I hope you find out what the board is at Home Depot is. It sounds interesting.

And the JT one does not last very well...
