making a border with 2 1/2" squares
I have a charm pack that I'd like to make a border of 2 1/2" squares. Is there a way to chain stitch the 5" squares then cut so that I end up with a row of 2 1/2" squares? I don't want to piece all those little squares. Thank you

Stitch all the pieces together along both sides then cut in half so you have 2.5 X 5 in pieces chaine pieced opening up to 5X 5. Cut again in the opposite direction

I made this quilt from remnants of charms squares. I sewed them into pairs, then sliced them in half. I ended up make 4 patches and then a 16 square patch but the technique should work the same. I have a friend who sews these using them as enders when she is piecing another quilt.
