making a panel into a larger quilt

Can anyone give me ideas on how to make a panel into a larger quilt? I want to do something other than just borders around it. Thank you

It is hard to give you options without seeing the panel

Borders around a panel don't have to be boring. Here is an example of what I did. (sorry it is sideways)

I would go to the website of the fabric company and see if they have any suggestions. When you look at the panel, what are the blcoks that come to mind?? There is math involved because sometimes you have to add an inside border so the size of the blocks fit the length and width of the panel.

so you didn't like any of these?

also, if you go to google, and put in 'quilt from a panel', then go to images, you get lots of pictures.

Holy Toledo! That's amazing! Your fabrics are wonderful and those pieced fish in the 2nd border in are great! Your own design or a pattern?

Feline fanatic, I love your borders. Not boring; great.

I love that quilt and always notice it whenever you post it. Funny - it's not really my style, but it attracts me anyway!

I would duplicate the blocks outside the trees (log cabins?). At first I was thinking french braids like used in SW quilts, but on second thought ... Maybe some different pine trees. I'd separate each block border with a solid border.
