I made a Thomas train quilt for my Grandson and now I want to make pillow cases. I`ve made some before just using yardage but how do you finish the inside if you do it in blocks? Do you put batting and a backing?
Thanks Gale

I would use batting if it was for a sham, but it may be too stiff for a pillow case. You could just use fabric and maybe stitch in the ditch lightly to hold them together.

I did a pillowcase like this last year . I cut my blocks, sewed together and used muslin on the back . Then I just stitched in the ditch . It came out very nice . Step grandson was thrilled with it . Good luck with yours . Annie

I just told my girlfriend in Texas last night to at last put a lining behind the pieced front of the pillow case she was making her SIL. It's to be an envelope style pillow case to match a football quilt she'd made him earlier. she didn't want to quilt it, so i told her she must put a backing fabric behind the pieced front at least.
