making potholders
I have always made my potholders like I do quilts when I am done I sew on the binding.
I have read someplace where it is done where you sew around the edge and leave an opening for turning. I was wondering can you put several pieces of batting? I assume that after you turn it is when you machine quilt the pot holder. I think I would like to try this and avoid doing the binding on small pieces. Any help with instructions????????? Thanks |
Here is a tute for making pot holders using the "birthing" method

Thanks for the link! I'm gonna try that for my next pot holder.

I like a thicker pot holder than the one with the link usually. There is a 10 minute potholder on you tube that is quite neat and can be padded heavier and has no binding. I made some and they turned out cute.
