Making a Queen Size Quilt
A friend of mine gave me a ton of fabric and told me to use it to make her a queen size quilt. Now, I don't mind doing so, I told her I'd have to tie it off due to not having a long arm and I can't afford to have someone do it for me.
She wants a solid color back for her quilt, I figured I'd go with black. The measurement of the quilt will be 96x96 inches... is there any place that I can find an extra wide fabric that would fit that? |
Most wide backs are 105+ and there's a sateen that's 118". Muslin comes 120".

if you do a google for the backing you will find alot, also you could take any large peices of fabric and sew them together to make your own backing.

Can someone tell me about how many yards of fabric that I would possibly need? |
Or you could do QAYG instead of tying

www.marshalldrygoods.com is a good place to look. Fabric Shack on the internet also has some. They are 108" wide and great quality fabric.

I just looked and www.marshalldrygoods.com has 37 colors of quilter's blend that is 108" wide for $7.99 a yard. It's good heavy quality fabric.
