What a nice thing to do :D:D:D
Just a suggestion, if he is going to be taking this to chemo, doctor, etc... you may want a darker background color  |

Our group made one for a member that was getting chemo (a nurse) there are a lot of nurses in our group and going by what some of the remarks from former clients we made the quilt with light batting and cuddly flannel for the backing. We did one in fall colors requested and just finished a pastel, again a color request.

Now question is...what kind of fabric should I choose? I know I want to go with a goldish kind of yellow and a darker green (not as green as the Packers have, but like a few shades darker than a "green green"). amma didn't explain why I should go with a darker background color. But white is part of the Packers colors. And...I thought I'd never say this...I don't want to go with black for the background (anyone that knows me knows I use black in just about everything I design! I mean, the quilt I'm working on now is black Slipknot shirts with black borders. lol).
There are so many fabrics in green and gold. Like solids, blenders, batiks, etc. The only one I don't want to go with (for the front of the quilt anyways) is the licensed Packer fabric. I mean I am playing off their colors and we do live in Wisconsin so people will probably think of the team when they see it, but I don't want it to be so obvious that I'll use the football fabric. |
My sons are 6'2" and 6'3" and I make their quilts 92 i nches long. They love the length.

Such a nice thing for you to do. Don't you find that when you hear bad news like that one of the 1st things you think of to help & give comfort is a quilt?
