I just bought the most lovely quilt panel called "Coming Home", which are saltbox kinds of houses and barns with quilts on them.

I'm not usually a quilt panel kind of person, but I just fell in love with this one!!!

I want to use this in a quilt that is pieced. Any suggestions or pictures to share? I want it to be a part of a pieced quilt, not the entire quilt.

Hope I'm being clear. Thanks for the inspiration!

I would like to see that panel.

I would cut the panel apart, leaving the thin yellow frame and make them the center of a patchwork square. Or you could make them into the center of a star and make a patchwork sashing. I think that would be cute.

I wasn't able to get any info on what size each square is but it would be easy enough to adjust.

It is a super cute panel. I look forward to hearing the other suggestions and then seeing what you decide to do. Which color did you choose?

Here is a link to the panel:

I hope that link isn't too long. I tried doing the tiny url to it but it won't allow me to do that in my post here

Panels can be tricky. Some are not square and difficult to get pieced blocks to line up. One I tried was a small panel that I tried to put flying geese around and was short on two sides so geese did not fit on those sides.
So it is my idea to put a border first so all sides will line up for adding pieced blocks.
Measuring all sides is a must.

I've seen some cute quilts where they cut out the main design of the panel and appliqued it over a pieced quilt...very nice results!

At times I have used panels for children.. The colors are so vibrant. And, on this board, I see everything..

Have fun, create your own thing !

Good luck !
