Has anyone made anything with 100% polyester? Not clothing.
I have some great 100% polyester, wild colors, prints that I am eager to work with. Got any suggestions?

Back in her day, my Mom made several quilts of polyester and they have held up well and still look great.

I made quilts for the car when we travel.. they hold up like iron in the wash.. and are super warm.. I machine pieced and string tied them.. Mine are scrappy 4 inch squares..

Years ago, I made quilts with polyester, and not knowing any better, I just cut big blocks and sewed them together. Now, I would probably stabilize them before cutting. I would definately do big blocks, because of the bulk in the seams. And believe me, they will last for YEARS. I just put a third backing on one that I had made for my daughter 20 years ago. Colors are a little faded, but still very warm. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Look forward to seeing pictures of finished quilts.

No, not double knit

It's not the easiest to work with, the seams don't press and stay flat, but it won't ever wear out. Go for it, I would use just a light batting though.

I used some and found this to be true. Also, it frays a lot so I ended up serging the seams.

Could you narrow that down a bit?

Is it a thin, silky type fabric? a robust double-knit?

Stretchy? Nor stretchy? (Some knits have very little stretch - ask me how I know that!)

Have several double knit quilts, one is in the tumbler pattern very heavy, just front and cotton on back no loft.
