I have done this before, but I would like your advice. I am going to make some dish towels and want to add a coordinating border on them. These are just to be used for decoration in the kitchen, not to actually be used.

Have you made some successfully?

Here is some I made for myself. It is just small shop towels with packaged bias on border.

I saw in Hancock's once a bolt of 'toweling'. I didn't even know what it was, but I bought 1/2 yard - it was cheap - and played around with it. It wasn't too bad. Now I know, if I want to make them from scratch, I can do so. I'm usually lazy, and buy blanks and decorate them :)

Good luck - and I'd sure love to see some that you create - or others have created! (Love dreamboat's also! Those are cute!) I need some new ones now! :)

Try the dollar stores in your area - for $1 or $2 you'll have a pretty nice - finished towel you can just decorate.

I bought half a dozen 2 years ago to do just that :(
When I was reorganizing my sewing area - AGAIN - I found them and pulled them out and I'm just going to use them as is.

Good luck - post pictures when you make some.

I'm actually talking about buying 100% cotton fabric and adding a 3" coordinating border on them.

I've done the other, but I want to do it like this and monogram them.
