My son and daughter both want a mariners compass quilt. You would think with all the patterns I have around here I could find one, but no luck. Any suggestions where to get a pattern that is not too hard to follow? Any help would be great.

Quilters Complete Guide by Fons and Porter

Excellent pattern and assembly instructions! You can get it pretty cheap on ebay.

The is a paper pieced mariner's quilt pattern in the April 2007 Fon's and Porter. You can order it from them. I recently did. They called it Island Spice

I was coming in here to say the same thing...with Carol you can't go wrong and her cd roms are fabulous to watch and learn from....

Of course you can't go wrong with anything Carol Doak does. I love her stuff and it is great for beginning and advanced. I have made many of her blocks in sizes as small as 4 inches, I think the only difference in beginning and advanced foundation piecers is the size of the pieces they deal with and the number of pieces in a block. My Opinion Anyway.
