Marshalls Dry Goods-Fabric quality

Just checking out Marshalls Dry Goods. Their prices on fabric are just too good to be true. Has anyone ordered fabric from them. What did you think about the quality. I especially was looking for blending colors.

gollytwo 11-16-2012 05:38 AM

I've ordered alot from them over the years.
Good quality, good service.

BellaBoo 11-16-2012 06:04 AM

I go to the warehouse a lot. All name brand fabric except Moda or batiks is there. They do have tye dye. They have every fabric quality from A - Z. If you order a name brand fabric you will be getting that brand's quality. Many shop owners are there filling up their vans and SUVs. You can buy by the bolt or by the yard. You get shop owner prices if you buy the bolt, just have to pay taxes and whatever else if you don't have a tax ID. You can be put on their wholesale email list to see all the new arrivals of fabric and prices every week. Just ask Sharon to add you to the list, email her. mdgsharon<wbr style="color: rgb(119, 119, 119); font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">@swbell.net

Ditto. I order ALL of my batting from there. Fabric is great, service is great, delivery time usually a week.

nygal 11-16-2012 06:11 AM

I have never ordered from them. I will check out their website.

dakotamaid 11-16-2012 06:15 AM

Maybe just started?

WandaVA 11-16-2012 06:26 AM

I just purchased some fabric from them that was considerably cheaper than the exact same thing I got from another source. I will definitely shop there often!

carslo 11-16-2012 06:40 AM

I have ordered 2 x now for backing, one was wide and the other regular width. The quality and price was excellent for backings for my quilts.

pollyjvan9 11-16-2012 06:45 AM

I have been very happy with quality and service. I buy all my batting from them.

We took a road trip a couple of years ago and DH planed a side trip by Batesville just for me. If you ever go there, make sure you have lots of time to shop and maybe a good book for your ride to read. DH sat on the husband bench and waited for me.

You get better prices when you actually visit the warehouse. I was there right after the owner slashed some prices. One beautiful fabric I got for $1.67 a yard. Bought six yards of it. Also got some really pretty floral fabric for $2 a yard!

If you ever get to go anywhere near Batesville, Arkansas you must go by(buy) there!

I'm still kicking myself for not buying some white minkee that had a rose design on it.

These are very pretty and I have seen them in the warehouse but not the batiks I think of like Hoffman. These are more graphic and highly colorful. They seem more in the tie dye line to me. And I have quiet a lot of them!

dakotamaid 11-16-2012 06:59 AM

You are absolutely right. I have used these for backings and they do great. I agree Hoffman's are the best!

I too have ordered from them twice. One of the fabrics was not a full yard. I called them and without any questions, they sent me a new piece.
Great place to buy fabric.

jcrow 11-16-2012 01:38 PM

I have never even heard of the place. Thanks for the tip!

Have ordered from Marshall's for years and have been satisfied. Would recommend

I'm lucky to live in Little Rock, Ark., which is less than two hours from Marshall's in Batesville -- so it's a fun trip for us quilting gals. We always find plenty of fabric to make the trip worthwhile -- and we always have lunch at Elizabeth's Restaurant, which is only five blocks or so away. (YUMMY hot rolls!) It's closed on Mondays. So -- fabric and food! What's not to love?

Mimiqwerty 11-17-2012 07:54 AM

I've purchased from them several times and been very happy. They also have an eBay store with even better prices on large cuts. I've gotten some good deals from there, too.

collady 11-17-2012 08:42 AM

I live in Batesville and shop at Marshall's a great deal. They carry major manufacturers and the prices are good. I have to fight myself to keep from over shopping!

Beehiveof9 11-17-2012 05:16 PM

I'm glad you posted this question! I was wondering the same thing the other day but hadn't had a chance to pose the question.

momsobon 11-18-2012 04:12 AM

My SIL is holding out on me I will have to talk to him about this....he is from Batesville and now lives in Savannah. Maybe I will have to take a trip to visit his family.....I will check them out online

vickysan 11-18-2012 04:44 PM

I go there every chance I get. I live 200 miles from there and when I get to go I try to get a lot. They also have $1.00 tables. I have foundsome real good buys on them and have got as much as 8 yards in a piece. It is my favorite place to shop.

captlynhall 11-18-2012 05:48 PM

Thanks for this information. I had never heard of Marshall's.

rebeljane 11-18-2012 09:17 PM

I have purchased form them and the quality is good

LoisM 11-18-2012 10:20 PM

Thanks for the heads up! I just checked them out and I can't believe the prices! Holy Cow!!

sylviak 11-18-2012 10:34 PM

Do you have to have a business license to buy wholesale from them, or just sign up? Great prices and a good selection of blenders and wide backings.

MacThayer 11-18-2012 11:50 PM

Thank you for the great information! I have just visited and bookmarked their site. Next time I need fabric (and I shop mostly on line) it will be at Marshalls. I'm dying to give them a try!

Belfrybat 11-19-2012 10:12 AM

Thank you for this information. I had never heard of them either and their prices are fantastic, even when shipping is added in. I just ordered 9 nine yards, two of which are greys I hope will work in the Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt. I couldn't find any grey locally except a very dark at Walmart.

mjhaess 11-19-2012 03:57 PM

Thanks for the info...I will check this out forsure....

ro 11-19-2012 04:10 PM

thank you for the website. prices look good. hope the fabric is just as good as everyone says. thanks again!

Slow2Sew 11-20-2012 07:34 AM

It is always well worth the three hour round trip for me to go to Marshall's when I have a special project. Be sure to check out Elizabeth's restaurant on Main Street if you are there close to lunch.
