HELP!!!!!!!

i really cant do the math...was in a car accident and i just cant think straight today...i have a really good case of whiplash so am trying to do something light...

i am planning on doing the the "no waste" flying geese block...so...if my large square is 9 1/2"...what size are my four smaller squares going to be???

TIA

The math is... The large block is 'x' plus 1 1/4 inches. The smaller blocks are 'y' plus 7/8 inches. 'x' is 2'y '. Based on a 9.5 big square, the 4 little squares should be 4 1/4 inches. Here's the math again. 9 1/2 - 1 1/4 = 8 1/4. 8 1/4 / 2 is 4 1/8. Best to try it one one square first!!! Good luck.
