Math help please 😊
I have 10, five yard cuts of fabric I bought over 10 years ago as a flat fold bundle and I would love to use each one for backings but I’m brain dead today. What size quilt could I make to efficiently use each cut with 4 inches on each each side to allow for loading on my long arm? FYI each one is a different print and color and so I’d like to plan for one quilt for each print, they are lovely loud Hawaiian prints.

My math is bad, however, if you cut the 5 yards into 2.5 yard pieces and sewed them together, I think you'd get a piece 108 by 88 or so.
Maybe. I'm not a mathemagician. (I hope I haven't just really embarrassed myself. Please wait for someone else before you cut anything.) Watson |
Lmao I <3 you Watson!

2.5 yards is 90 inches minus 8 (4 each side) leaves 82 inches in length
41 inches x 2 lengths is 82 minus 8 leaves 74 inches in width assuming 41 1/2 wide yardage So 74 x 82 approximately |
Watson & QuiltingVagabond thank you! My brain is apparently on vacation!
