Can anyone suggest a site to find out how many 6 inch squares to make a full size quilt. I know it should be easy, but I seem to be in a brain fog.

It also depends on if you are using sashing and border(s) :D:D:D
Multiply 6" (the finished size of the block) by how many across and down. 6" X 14 blocks = 84" for example Do you want the quilt to fit just the top of the mattress? Hang over each side 10 inches? Do you want it to cover the pillows? Sometimes it is best to actually measure the mattress, some are deeper and could even be longer than others :D:D:D |
Thanks, it will just be a picnic type blanket/camping.So I just said full size. Of course I only have queen size beds.I'm think around 54x60.

Are you talking 6-1/2 inch cut size or 6 inch cut size?
|
If your finished square is 6" then divide the finished width of the quilt by 6 (knowing that you have to add 1/2" to each square when cutting.
If your finished square is 5 1/2" the divide the finished width of the quilt by 5.5." |
