Maybe tomorrow I will try and sit down and quilt my next WIP.
Still feels not right doing something so enjoyable when others here are suffering so much.... :|

Yes, I agree.....

emerald46 03-15-2011 02:13 AM

I was just thinking the same thing!

Go sit and quilt, while you are doing, it pray.

Finish the quilt and give it away to some of the victims.

Give hope, where there is dispair.
Give light, where there could be dark.
Give love, where there could be one lost.
Give comfort, where it's needed right now.

Watching the news is heartbreaking for many of us. We will keep you and everyone in our prayers.

My heart breaks for your country. My prayers for all the families now and in the future.

I understand your feelings. We are praying for your country... You could do a lot of good with your quilting, tho. How about making some things for families who have lost their homes and/or loved ones? Comfort quilts would be a very precious gesture and is something tangible you can do to help in the tragedy.

It is hard to accept that it is okay to enjoy something when so many others are suffering but I agree with LovingMama

Glad to hear that you are OK. I was wondering.

Do you know of any avenue for us to ship quilts and have them distributed to survivors of the tragedy? I would love to make a few to let the Japanese people know they are not alone at this terrible time.

P.S. Glad to know that you are safe.

My thoughts too!

everyone has to deal with things differently and maybe this is your way of dealing with the tragedy at hand,I am sure noone would be offended by you doing some quilting maybe you could even help others out if you are in a position to do so by doing small quilts and donating them to those in need especially kids. That way you can do quilting and help some unfortunate people feel loved just when they need it most

Yes, I wake up thinking, I slept in a bed last night.
Where are my former Japanese neighbors? Former home was near a "brand new" honda plant. The start up was full of Japanese men and their families. My neighborhood was full of these families that stayed 3 years or 5 years up to their assigment.
Saturday was Japanese school all day. The bus was always nearly full.
Where are my former neighbors? Thank you for the post.
