Hi Guys,

Has anybody out their bought just the patterns for this project? Can you tell me how easy it was to follow and cut out the pieces?

I am looking to buy this but it is an expensive pattern to just sit in my to do basket... Especially with shipping to the UK etc.... So any help and advice would be totally amazing.

I have done the tracing and cutting for one of MeKenna Ryan's quilts. It's very well organized and everything is numbered. I used small zipper bags to help keep things organized. I was helping another woman who had thumb surgery and couldn't do the tracing and cutting. She did the fusing and stitching. They're beautiful quilts and are easier than they look.

Her patterns are beautiful but they do look challenging!

I have made several of her patterns and I find them beautiful when finished. You do have to stay organized (that said, I am not that person particularly but become one when working on these patterns). A teflon pressing cloth helps a lot. Small scissors with very sharp points are very handy even necessary I would say. It helps when working on smaller pieces to hold the scissors still and turn the fabric piece you are cutting. Don't take little tiny cuts but try to use the whole blade of the scissors as much as possible. Gee, I hope that makes sense. I have more of her patterns to do so obviously I am a big fan. Did you buy the patterns yet? They sure are cute snowman!

I have never done her patterns, but may have to steal that sashing idea on a red and teal quilt in the future.

No.. haven't bought them yet, I wanted some info from you all first... I do love those snowmen... but it is an expensive project.......... I keep looking on Ebay to see if somebody has a pre-loved pattern for sale but no luck.... so I will probably have to buy them new!

I have bought some of her patterns on ebay at a much reduced rate due to being used but you probably have to wait until they have been out for a while. Just saw one set for $95 with free shipping but yes, that is still expensive for sure. If you are not in a rush, wait a bit and maybe someone who has finished their quilt will put the patterns up for sale at a more reasonable price. Good luck!
