I am wanting to make a quilt using "diabetes" fabrics. Does anyone know of any? I tried a search, and got lots of things other than this.
It got me thinking, this board would be a good place to list fabrics we had seen for different conditions (for example, there are numerous breast cancer fabrics, it would be good to have a place that lists the makers or sellers of any fabrics that we know about). For example: http://www.jandofabrics.com/products.asp?id=125 I also wondered about the different ribbon colors. For example, the breast cancer ribbon is pink, yellow is to support the troops. I found this site that lists colors and meanings: http://www.trinitylondon.com/awarene...n-meanings.asp I see that gray is the color for diabetes. Can you think of any other category to add? Do you know of any sites to add as a link? |
If you don't have any luck finding fabric that represents diabetics, perhaps you could do a quilt representing your journey, from not feeling well to diagnosis to management....
I once saw an art quilt done by a woman that showed her experience from breast cancer diagnosis thru mastectomy to her life after.. Very emotional. |
I have only seen breast and ovarian cancer fabrics, they have a ribbon color for every kind of cancer though.
|
But they don't have a fabric for every color... just pink, teal, red, purple, and maybe P&B still makes a yellow one.

I think that green ribbons are for organ transplant/donor awareness.

Autism awareness is represented by a multi-colored puzzle piece ribbon.

One of my co-workers just told me that purple is for Lupus. Timeless Treasures has just come out with a new "ribbon" fabric that they offer both in pink and purple. Here's a picture of the purple colorway:

I was just looking through some of my old posts, and saw this one. I found what I was looking for - colors of ribbons for different illnesses.

This is the material I am looking for also. Did you happen to come across any?
|
Take a look at www.spoonflower.com. I found "brain material" there.
