Memory quilt
I have tasked myself with making a few memory quilts for my husbands cousins family in memory of their son. I came across this quilt that used Polo shirts while looking at images of memory quilts on google. It's a much more streamlined use of the shirts and I really like it. Does anyone know the name of this quilt pattern? I'd like to make it mostly because it's such a vast departure from the standard Polo shirt memory quilt and I think the family would really like it. Any help would be much appreciated.

interesting. Never seen anything like this before, do you think that she uses a fusible stabilizer?

It's a pattern called Sunset by Julie Popa, Sunflower Hill Designs. Here's one place I found it for sale.
Be aware, it has Y seams and the outside edges of the blocks are on the bias. |
Thank you Peggy!

It is a beautiful quilt that will make good use of polo shirts. Be sure to use a good stabilizer when cutting.

Very pretty. I don't make any kind of quilts using shirts of any kind. Good luck.

Hi Catherine. I love that pattern. It is a great alternative for polo shirts. It has given me an idea. I've made a couple of t shirt quilts and have cut and saved the rest of the t-shirts fabric for a quilt but hadn't decided on making it similar to the actual t shirt quilt or something else. So you've shown me the "something else". Thanks.
Attached are the t shirt quilts I've made...I do not use any stabilizer on my t shirt quilts. I think this can be done similarly. Anita |
