Men quilting in prison
Not sure if this post should go here or in a different thread so please forgive me & move it if it needs to be somewhere else.
I found it to be very interesting & inspiring. https://news.stlpublicradio.org/cult...aks-your-heart |
That is a great story. Projects like this are wonderful for helping inmates feel empathy for others at a time when they're really disconnected from society. I wish there had been pictures - it sounds like they're making some amazing quilts!

Are there any programs in California

This needs to happen in every state and every prison or correctional institutes. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed the story and pictures very much.

If you do a simple web search on "prisoners who quilt" you will see that there are a lot of prisons who have similar quilting programs. Hopefully, this will catch on & continue throughout the states & beyond.

I think that is a cool idea.

Rehab happens in so many different ways. Like seeing our men folk who need skills and a way to be creative find one way through fabric an a sewing machine. We know it is a forever skill that can lead to a better life out side the walls of a correctional facility. .
