looks like fun, but I like the version where the middles are opposite, adds more interest to the quilt!

The one at piecenquilt looks like it would be 2 1/2" strips.....then 6 60degree triangle 6 x 60 = 360 degrees......that is a hex(circle)......I have a book with this design in it and it states using a 60degree triangle to cut the pieces......

Every pieced pattern available to buy is just a rehash of a pattern that has been done years ago. New color placement, new size, or new construction method are the only changes and then everyone hollers copyright. This is the same as the Tube Quilt only using two fabrics instead of three or four. I think applique patterns are the only ones that are true original designs.

The pattern is from McCalls quilting. Go to their site and look up the free pattern. we had a demo about this today at our quild. Can't wait to start mine.

Geez, what's the sense of buying McCalls quilting mag, when the pattern ends up free on their site ? Thank goodness I didn't have to buy the mag that has merry go round in it, I picked it out of a free box at LQS.
