A few days' ago, there was a question about thread breakage when machine quilting. It said something about never having trouble with that since the person purchased some kind of metallic needle. I wrote down the name to look up but now I can't find it. Does anyone else remember anything like this? Thanks. (You can see how organized I am)

Different manufacturers sell them, but I just look for Metallics in their descriptions/labels :D:D:D
The eye of these needles are what is different about them  |
I use Metallic needles when I quilt using monofilment thread and they work like a dream.

Check your LQS or sewing center such as Jo-Ann's. I can't find them at Walmart, but the other fabric stores should carry them. They are for using metallic thread and the eye of the needle does not shred the thread.

I ordered some from Nancy's Notions. I tried them with metallic thread and it did help a little with not having the thread break so much. I am going to try those needles with my FMQ and regular thread on my next quilt. They have a deeper cut where the thread follows before it goes into the eye of needle. I am still learning about all of this, too!

Thanks, everyone, for your input.
