Mexican Star Pattern

Does anyone know where I can buy the Mexican Star pattern in Canada? The shipping from the States to here costs more than the pattern itself. Thanks for any help you can give.

That is a beautiful pattern, I hadn't seen it before. Here is a link to a free pattern..

You can google "free mexican star quilt pattern" to find dozens of free patterns, example above is just one. I rarely buy patterns, I always look for free versions on line..good luck.

When I Googled the name, more than one design came up - which one were you looking for?

hmmm, i think of one with folded triangles made from squares. I may have a pattern sent to me from a friend in England. will look for it. is that the one you mean? like this http://quiltingdigest.com/mexican-star-quilt/

ok, i looked and have templates for Mexican Cross. the free one listed above actually. not the one with curves made by folded squares. if you would like this, i can mail it, no problem.

Quilt in a day-Eleanor burns - has a YouTube on this pattern....take notes or buy her pattern....

Thanks, ladies. I have looked at the free patterns but the one I love is this one: http://quiltingdigest.com/mexican-star-quilt/ . I don't mind paying for the pattern; it is the price of shipping that is the deal-breaker.

I think it’s odd that it’s not available as a digital download. You could contact them & ask if that’s an option.

Here is the manufacturer of that pattern and so many more that use that same technique. In fact they have loads of really pretty designs and patterns. Why don't you contact them (there is an email address) and ask if they have .pdf version you can download or can tell you where you can buy it in Canada. they also just released a larger version called Mexican Star Dance.

Direct link to the pattern you asked about

And if you look at the top there is a contact us link.

This version of the Mexican star is absolutely beautiful. I just ordered mine and this will be my next project. Thanks for posting.

The pattern designer has a book: https://www.amazon.com/Peeled-Back-P.../dp/1574328581

I don't think this pattern is in it, but it will let you see the technique, and it has some really beautiful quilt patterns. Perhaps you can borrow it from your library?

Looks like Hamel's here in BC has the large version, maybe contact them? http://store.hamelsfabrics.com/store...360&page_id=17

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I emailed Southwinds Quilts and while the pattern is not available as a download, the shipping charge to Canada is only $3.00. That is certainly much more reasonable than the first website I checked and so I ordered it from Southwinds. Annette responded to my email within minutes and gave me the shipping cost. Great service.

Yea!!! glad you got it. I'm about to mail my friend in England a small box and wonder how much that is going to cost me. Still, I'll do it no matter what it is. post pic when you make your quilt!!!

Oops, I should have read all of the posts before ordering the single block pattern. So now I'm getting both the single and the whole quilt version, but that's okay, it's only money...right? :D
