Debra, do you need to Nuke the feed corn? how long? Before or after you fill the little pouch?

You can do it after you make it. I just had one I posted about early that was never used & it had corn bores coming out of it. It like weevils in the flour. You never know they are there till they hatch out.

I use deer corn and I put each one in the microwave after I have the bag filled and sewn closed. My sister used cow corn once. You could use that but word of advice "don't" if you can possibly use some other type. Cow corn has a funky smell to it when it gets warm. It will work, but, like I said, it smells funky.

What about microwave corn bags? I found one a while back but can't remember where. All I can find is the bags you use for your achy body but I'm trying to find the kind you cook corn on the cob in.

As most of you know you must use all cotton materials. They greatly reduce the risk of scortching and burning in your microwave. Like someone pointed out above you must be careful that it is free to move on the microwave turn table as well.

Another point that many people forget is that you must wash your potato bag! Food scraps from the potato can get left behind in the bag and after many uses can cause problems. A wash after every use is not needed but every once in a while will reduce the chance of an incident. Just some things to keep in mind.

there is another thread on this forum going on right now about how they catch fire....this lady used a kit from Keepsake quilting and all of her bags caught fire!
