Millie is Here!

1 Attachment(s)
I bought an APQS Millie and she was set up yesterday. My dealer is Myrna Ficken of A Quilter's Choice - APQS West. She is wonderful! Although we have a couple issues that are no fault of hers, she is basically set up. I can't wait to finish and be able to start learning! This is a dream come true! I did not get the computer yet - my choice. I'm afraid I would rely on the computer and I want to know what she and I are capable of. I plan to quilt some for others so hope you will keep my in mind when I'm ready. Thanks for looking.

Will do. I'm missing a piece so can't start till it's shipped and I install it. I am so excited and since she is set up I do a lot of petting. lol

What kind are you getting?

I have a milli too. I added an IQ computer to mine and love that. Good luck on your new adventure.

Thank you. I joined the forum but hadn't hear about the resource. I'll go there now.

Congratulations. That is my dream machine but with the computer also. Look forward to hearing all the fun you will be having with this wonder. I am not artistic, so I would have to have the computer, especially if I were going to quilt for the public. My family doesn't care if I wander all over the place and my circles look like ovals, but I think people paying me would. "chuckling"

Congratulations. Those smiles tell it all-enjoy your new machine.

Don't you love it when Christmas comes 6 months early!

You must be tickled pink...How exciting for you! I am hoping to have a longarm this Fall and have my mind on a Millie too. The only other machine I haven’t had a chance to quilt on is the Bernina Q24 but would love to know why you chose APQS.

I bet you are waiting on pins and needles for that part. : )

I researched and checked machines for several years. I didn't go with Janome or Bernina, because to me, they are still sewing machines, and I don't believe they would hold up to the use I plan to gi her. I check with Nolting owners several times and their machines were always down and they didn't know when they would get fixed. I visited a friend that has a Gammill. She does only computer because she has to change rails reconfigure, etc to do something else. I want to be able to do rulers, fmq, computer (when I get on) and keep on going. Grace was just plain rude when I called them to inquire. I could have dealt with a HQ dealer but their rails are in pieces. I don't want my rails to wear and give. I went to an APQS roadshow last year and their machine really impressed me. It runs smooth, life-time warranty, brass rails are 1 piece (they are extremely heavy),great table, hydraulics. They teach you to do the oiling and servicing is not required yearly.

These are just my observations. I am not putting down any other machine. This was just the best choice for me. Whatever you choose, you will love and get the enjoyment out of. Please don't get upset with my observations.

Thank you for your thoughts and experience regarding your APQS Millenium purchase...I’m pretty sure that’s the one I’ll end up with too. I learned to FMQ on an APQS Lenni about 4 years ago then the shop I rented from closed up so I currently rent an HQ Avante.

Congratulations. I hope you have lots of fun learning. I think you made a good choice
of not using a computer until you do it yourself.
