Minecraft creeper quilt

Good Afternoon Quilters!
I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I can get a pattern for Minecraft creeper quilt? I want to make a full size quilt! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Thanks Nancy, me either! I think I will go with a mix of greens at 6x6 block 16 across and 16 down. Not good with math or numbers, but I am figuring it will be 96x 96. Than I will add a 2 inch border! This should fit a full size bed! Any thoughts?

If your blocks finish at 6" (you cut your squares at 6.5") then your math is correct. This will be sort of large for a double. A full mattress is around 54"X75". With your 2" border, your quilt will be 100X100. If the bed is 54", then you will have a 23" overhang on the sides.
You might want to consider a smaller size square.

Your quilt will measure a little smaller when you subtract seam allowances, if your blocks are 6" prior to sewing. It will measure 91.5" square with your 2" border.

I can't wait to see what your finished quilt will look like. Our son and daughter LOVE minecraft! Good luck!

This is what I am going for! http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Handmade...item27e28eebd8
What size squares do you think these are? Any thoughts?

Looks like 14 blocks across, plus 2 borders about the same size as the blocks. 65"/16 = 4", so you would cut your squares 4.5"

My guess would be that it was made with 5" blocks - maybe a charm pack - finishing at 4 1/2" each. It is 14 across and 16 down. If you start with 6" blocks (5 1/2" finished) it will be 77" x 99" plus your border, so 81" x 103". This will give you a drop of approximately 14" on each side. You could always make a 4" border if you want more of a drop on the sides and take off one row from the bottom so that you have a drop of 14" at the foot of the bed. (Don't take one off if you are going to go over the pillow, with a tuck, with the quilt.) Ann

Oh, this is cute, I might have to borrow this idea! My niece & nephew are both obsessed with this game. Would be a cute gift for them!

I also know kids that are obsessed with Minecraft. I never thought of doing quilts for them (duh). Thanks for this thread - something else for my never-ending list!

Another question. How many total yards do you think this will take for a full size? The one in the pix posted from above website? Thanks everyone for your help!!!

Oh, I'd be interested, too. My 13 year old grandson is a huge Minecraft Creeper fan. I made him a Creeper (out of green fleece), a Steve (blue, brown, white fleece), and a ....hmmm, I've forgotten the name, but it's a villain, long armed and long legged, out of black fleece. He loves them all. I know he'd love a quilt, too.

I couldn't open this page with my daughter in the room :)

I plan to use a cross stitch pattern and do simple blocks. I want to pull all of the floss colors and take them to select the fabric colors.

Those are the links i have saved.

I love the one you found on ebay.

I'm in no rush to start it...

If i make one, there will be about 4 other kids asking too. So i keep debating what to do. I might just make a bunch of bags so everyone gets something.

Was looking at this and the 7 and 8 year old Gandsons loved it. They play this all the time. Now I have another idea to make!

Carrie in PA 04-30-2014 03:59 AM

Over the summer i had the idea to do this and then i was discouraged by selecting the fabrics.

Anyone know of an online shop that has that many choices of greens? I only have 2 stores where i can see the fabric before i buy it and neither one of them had more than 3 shades at one time. I didn't buy, but if i had i would still have only 6 colors maybe.
