Minky
Some quilting some not. I am using minky dot fabric for the back of a quilt and had used it to make two teddy bears. If you iron it the dots go flat. is there a way to revive the dots. I can wash the quilt but the bears no so much. Don't know if water will do the trick or not. Does anybody have any experience with minky dot fabric.

I haven't done anything with minky. My girlfriend did and when she ironed it...it melted, so I guess I'd try before it's complete...she learned the hard way.

I did not melt it used a cool iron and ironed the minky side so it went flat. the nylon side would melt easily so in case I do it again when doing the corners on my quilt now I wonder how to puff them back up.

You could try washing it -- but I think I read somewhere that if you iron out the dots they are gone. I tossed my minky dots in the dryer to get the creases out instead of ironing.

Have you tried steaming it without touching the fabric? That should at least restore the fluffiness, if not the dots.

Do you have some scraps that you could iron then launder?

There have been previous post and I think the dots are gone for good.

I just recently completed a baby quilt for my daughter and used Minky for the backing. I didn't even try to iron it, because I had a feeling it would melt. Instead, I finger-pressed it and that worked just fine. I sent the completed quilt off to her this morning.
