minky does not fray/ chenelle like the flannel, the whole reason for raggy quilts, minkee makes great backs, being polyester it washes ok without any fading but it would not work out well for a raggy quilt, once the silky edge all washes away all you have it hard plain polyester edge sticking out not a soft chenelle edge

I made a rag quilt for my niece for Christmas and I really wanted to use minkee since it is dang soft. I would use it. But I wouldn't use it for just the back. I would add some pieces on the top and have some pieces on the bottom. Spread them out so you don't get a top and a bottom with minkee. They do not rag at all but they do feel and look nice. I used flannel and cotton as well with it. And I went ahead and added batting to everything. Even the pieces with the minkee.

minky is that super soft fuzzy like material. i use it mostly to make teddybears for babies. A little infor for you it burns hotter then all other fabrics.
