Mirrors?

I see in the tutorials for kaleidascope quilt that a hinged mirror is used to evaluate the areas of the fabric for viability. Are these hand made or are they available for purchase? Do any of you know?

Joann's has one that is for sale online only. http://www.joann.com/folding-magic-m...x-6-/prd22442/ I bought mine at Hobby Lobby with a Joann's coupon so I got it for around $7. You could easily make this yourself. Joann's sells pieces of mirroring http://www.joann.com/darice-8-x8-squ...ror/xprd78605/ or you could get it at a glass shop. Just tape them together and VOILA! you have a mirror to help with making a kaleidascope! I find I get mine out to play with alot. It is fun to see the different designs!!!

i have a purchased one- it is (2) 6" mirrors
with a (spine) available in many quilt shops, places like clotilde's, keepsake quilting, nancy's notions, hobby lobby, joannes,

or you can easily make your own- purchase 2 square mirrors, use a number of layers of masking tape on the back aligning the two mirrors. so they fold together *facing each other* or open when needed. (duct tape works pretty good for this too.

I bought some, if i could find mine i'd mail them to you. I bet I've used them once. You should be able to find them almost anywhere or find two cheap ones and tape them together. have fun!!

Leave 1/4" space between the mirrors when taping them together. The tape needs slack to fold and unfold.

I think I bought mine at Nancy's Notions or Clotilda

I got mine from a shop that orders from Checkers distributors!

I purchased 2 mirrors at Target for $2 each. They're about 5" by 7". They were in magnetic frames and I found them on the school/office supply aisle. I tried the Dollar Store, but the manager there told me they only carry that stuff during back-to-school. They're marketed as locker mirrors, despite the fact that lockers aren't used anymore. At least, not in my area of the planet.
Anyway - I plan on duct-taping the mirrors together, but for now just holding them in the right spot works.

I took mirrors from two powder compacts (make-up) I bought at the $1 store and duct taped them together. They just fit in a leather case that one of the boys made in Boy Scouts (youngest is 28 now) from the cut out kits that you lace up.

I saw one at our local quilt shop a few days ago when I was in there. I'm sure you should be able to buy one online someplace.
