Does anyone know if there is a registry for missing (stolen or borrowed? quilts? Someone must have needed it and checked iwth our kids but there was a house full here from Thanksgiving to Last week and not all family. I can't believe one of our friends would Borrow? it.

Have you asked everyone who was there? That's the first thing I'd do. I'm sorry your quilt has gone missing and I hope you can find out what happened and get it back!

I've asked everyone and my girls don't think any one will admit that they even don't trust everyone here. It was Christmas time and then my husband passed so I reallly can't tell you all the people that were here...would they admit they took it if they did? Why didn't they ask for a quilt for heavens sake? Not that one that was my husband's favorite one> Will post a picture of the center on here later today. It was cross stitched and machine quilted beautifully.
Someone must have needed it real bad. Now that the news is out here I'm hoping to find it on my back porch some day and not go thru this again.

That brings back so many memories when we lost my dad. When he passed all the family & I do mean alllllll, came here & to Mom's since she lived next door. It was a pain trying to get ready for the funeral with everyone here. We had memory boards to get done, clothes to get ironed, phone calls to attend to. The party went on in to the night,which my Dad would have probably wanted but it just wasn't the appropriate time. After all was said & done 'things'disappeared. My Dad's old double edge razor, mug & brush he shaved with, Pictures from the photo board of my brother that could not be replaced because he is deceased. No quilts but it's just the idea that they are gone. When I saw that my pictures were gone I lost it & confronted the whole congragation at the dinner after the funeral. I waited for everyone to get their plates filled, get their drinks & sit down & once it was relatively quiet, I stood up to give a speach! I blew up! I told them how low it was to do such things at a time like this. I was crying by the time it was over & when it came time to go home, my brother's picture was on the front seat of the car! And it was like you said, all they had to do was ask. I could have given them a copy of any picture they wanted. It makes you feel so violated by those who we thought loved us. I feel sorry for you & I hope you get it back. Maybe if you send an email to all you can remember being at the house with a plea to get it back. Tell them no questions asked!

You might also use Craigslist in your area. Also if your local paper has a section for lost/missing things......
If someone local took it and sees such a posting, they might be convicted of their devious actions and return it.

Also contact your area quilt guilds with a heads up in case it were to show up for presentation in one of their shows. And, tell your insurance adjuster.

I am so sorry you have to go through this. It definitely is a violation when someone invited into your home takes something. A couple of years ago, the boyfriend of one of my nieces too several Wii games and DVD's from our home. My son was devastated. How can someone steal from a kid? It has taken years to replace those games. I don't know how I'd react to having one of my quilts taken.

That is so sad. I hope you get it back soon.
