Missouri Star Quilt Co Large Wedge Template

Hi
I just received the large wedge template and I would like to make a tree block - how do I figure out what size rectangle I need to fit on the sides ?
Thanks

Which tree blocks are you doing? Is it the Christmas half hexie ruler tree table runner? Or is it the triangle tree table runner? Does the ruler have a name?

Do they have a tutorial for using it like you want?

Yes, MSQC does have tutorial for the table runners - but I want to make a quilt, turning the triangle wedge into a quilt block - I know I need to cut some type of rectangle in half, but I can't get the size I need. Have wasted a lot a fabric already.

If you are doing the large 60 * triangles, I would trace out 1/2 of the triangle and add 1/4 inch on the straight side. You want 2 half triangles to add to each side of the main triangle to form a square.

If you are using the "large simple wedge" template and just want to add pieces to make it a rectangle, you would cut 2rectangles, 4" x height of triangle (9 1/4"). Place the rectangles right sides together. Position the template so that the edge of the fabric is 1/4" past the vertical line on the template, and make a single cut. You should now have 2 pairs of side pieces. Because you need mirrored pairs, you can't cut a set from a single rectangle of fabric with a sngle cut.
