Mixed pressing
2 Attachment(s)
I decided to try two pressing techniques on this top -
I pressed one group of seams to the side - which I think is easier than pressing seams open It's easier for me to get joins where I want them when I nest the pieces that have been pressed to the side I pressed the sewn strips open - which I thought was harder to do than pressing them to one side - but I was trying to minimize bulk |
Nothing like posting something to note the imperfections. And guess what! I'm leaving this as is.

Good for you!

I hate to look at pictures because they are so intimidating to me, but I am happy you put up your picture. Looks like my work. Thanks!! Makes me feel "not alone". I'm not a perfectionist. If I were, I wouldn't have so many quilts. I'm glad you are leaving yours as is. Once it's all done, nobody will notice that you were off by a speck.

I mostly press to one side, as I like how the seams nestle together, and it is easier if you want quilt in the ditch. If a block will be really bulky though, sometimes I will press the final seams open. I also think it is harder to press seams open so avoid most of the time.

i do the same thing so like you i just let it go and besides when it gets quilted you really can,t see it and they don,t know anyway so enjoy i allways do lol

I like to press to one side too, as I like the nesting effect. I'd love to see that top when it is done, or the finished quilt - looks like a really neat mix of fabric!

These pieces were supposed to be 2 x 5 - they are mostly scraps from fussy cutting
