I want to use some flannel in a quilt I am doing and I wonder if I will have issues. I have washed and dryed the flannel twice so I think it is done shrinking. The other fabrics are all 100% cotton washed and dryed once. Anyone have any advice or opinions?

I wouldn't mix them together in a quilt top, but you may be able to do fine.

i have done it with no problem,like you said, it has been washed and dried.
i have even mixed fleece and cotton, on a basketball quilt for my grandson..no problems at all..

can't find the picture, of it completed.but i joined cotton to fleece on the back of a fleece front quilt..i know that is not your question, but i was able to work this mix..

what kind of quilt/pattern are you doing?!

Are you doing a ragged edge quilt or a regular pieced quilt? If you are doing the regular pieced quilt I might make the seams a bit wider than the usual scant 1/4" if the flannel is one that frays easily (not all of them fray as much).

The flannel washed up nice and does not seem to fray much. I have not decided on a pattern yet but I want to do a black and white and incorporate some Nascar Jimmy Johnson fabric for my niece who is a big fan. The only nascar fabric I could find is flannel. I am thinking maybe a log cabin, or a square in square, possibly a pattern called square dancing. Not sure yet. I will probably use just smaller squares of the flannel.

I have been mixing flannels and cottons and corduroy's for years, it has NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM! and the flannels are wonderful! at least i think so, i love working with flannel almost as much as working with wool. as long as you preshrink it which you have just go ahead and use it, you will be glad you did! makes such a cozy quilt :)

I agree, I think you can used them together with no problem. Especially since you have washed all fabrics going into the quilt.

If you like the look, go for it.

I have pieced the top with a mix of both cotton and flannels and backed the quilt with flannel. The only suggestion I can make is use cotton for your binding. It seemed to work better because the flannel seems to stretch funny. Good Luck.
