Mixing quilting threads
I am wondering if it is a bad idea to mix 100% cotton thread for top quilting and 65 polyester/35 cotton blend for bobbin thread? I bought the perfect colors but did not consider this factor? Thanks for any input.

This is perfectly acceptable.

I use size 70 poly in my bobbins with cotton thread on top for piecing. I've never wondered if that was okay or not. LOL

I mix them as well.

Cotton is good for piecing but not as good for quilting. If you do use cotton get a 3 ply #50. Superiorthreads.com has education on many subjects!

I often mix thread fibers---generally cotton in the bobbin & polyester in the top- mainly because with my high-speed long arm cotton threads break every couple inches when I try to use them on the top- they work fine in the bobbin though...I've also used silk on top with cotton in bobbin & wool thread in bobbin with cotton on top (with my domestic machine) mixing fibers is fine.

Thanks for the input, appreciate it!!

Should work just fine!
