Mixing starched and unstrarched in the same project
I’m getting ready to start a new project and will be using some yardage as well as jelly rolls. It seems like a lot of work to starch the jelly rolls so I was going to skip it. Should I still starch my yardage before cutting or just skip that as well?

I only starch things that don't behave properly. All of my projects are a mixture of fabrics that are starched, fabrics that have best press on them and things that have been pressed with only water. So - imho - you will be fine.

It doesn’t matter. My quilts always have some fabrics starched, some not. I starch a piece when I need to. Sometimes it helps when cutting, sometimes it helps when Piecing, sometimes it’s just not necessary.

To be honest, I only spray Best Press on my fabric when I'm making a quilt with really small pieces. I find that it helps tremendously with keeping the fabric from stretching but when making a large quilt, I only use it if necessary. I really don't think it matters if some are and some aren't starched.

Thanks ladies, I will move forward starching at will!
